Everyone has a bad view of plastic, and there’s a good reason for that. We know that plastic causes all kinds of harm to our environment on a wide variety of levels. There are the chemicals involved, how long it takes it to degrade, and the whole ocean thing. How many times have you heard about the floating plastic garbage patch in the ocean? That patch isn’t getting any smaller, and it’s something that we must take seriously. We can, and the answer to all of our plastic problems is hemp plastic.
It wasn’t long ago that only a few products were made using hemp plastic
You might be old enough to remember the hemp plastic blank CDs. If you are, you probably bought a few boxes of the discs to give Mother Nature a helping hand. You did your part then, and you’re even more doing so now. You can buy a wide variety of products, including cases for your smartphone. Just when you think you’ve seen all there is to see, another company makes something else with hemp plastic. Who knows, before long, all of the plastic components in your vehicle might be made from hemp.
Is hemp plastic as durable as other plastics?
That’s a question that many consumers have, and the short answer is yes. You can rest assured that hemp plastic is just as good, if not more durable as regular plastic. The term regular plastic is a bit misleading because soon, hemp plastic will be seen as the norm. How can it not be considering that you can make almost everything imaginable out of hemp plastic? Why can’t they make keyboards, televisions, or other critical components in electronics using hemp plastic? The answer is they can, and it’s only a matter of time before they do. You can’t expect something as good as this plastic to stay secret for much longer.
Our need for plastics isn’t going away any time soon
Think about it: what is going to replace plastic? Metal can’t replace it, and certainly, wood fiber won’t. Plastic has been an essential part of our lives since it was introduced to the masses. That’s not going to change any time soon, and California hemp continues to play a pivotal role in it.
The only thing that is going to change is the amount of hemp that’s dedicated to the manufacture of plastic. As time goes on, people will dedicate more of this ecologically sound plant-based product into a wide variety of products.
